Jenn: Hey everyone. And welcome back to travel tip Tuesday. So this week I want to talk about how we kind of structure our day. When we're traveling. And most of the time that means getting out and about early to avoid crowds and to jam pack as much to do as possible into one day.

Meggan: Jen loves that.

Jenn: I love to jam things in, and I'd say we've done this on almost any like every trip that we've done. At home, I wouldn't call myself a morning person. I don't naturally jump out of bed and I'm ready to pull on clothes and do stuff. But when I'm traveling, I'm usually like, let's go, let's get out of this hotel room and go see staff.

And because we've done that we've done like an almost empty time square. We've done an empty like Toronto, like downtown Toronto. Completely empty. We've also gotten to like museums and stuff really early to avoid crowds. And it definitely helps when you go to Disney world too. Get em, Disneyworld's a little bit different though. Cause you got to get to the park like a half an hour before it opens.

Meggan: It's like you wait outside, is that like you're in line?

Jenn: It's like they do what they call a rope drop where, and then back in the day they used to literally drop a rope and people would go, but now it's kind of, you can wander around. You just can't really get on ride.

Meggan: Oh, okay. You can actually go into the park and

Jenn: go almost all the way into the park. They, they let you sort of in, and then at opening time, they let you go. Sometimes they let you go in a little bit earlier. And if you're staying on property, like staying at a Disney hotel, you can get in earlier.

But yeah, Disney's complicated that way we can do a whole show. Actually, you should check out our friends at rope drop radio because that's literally their thing is the rope dropping. Right.

Meggan: Well, that name makes so much more sense to me right now than it did before. So I get it now. Yes.

Jenn: Meghan are usually out and about early, when you're traveling.

Meggan: Yeah, I definitely, I am like, so not a morning person at home. Peter's a morning person, no matter where he is, what time zone he's in what city season? It's very, yes, but while on vacation, I'm actually like you, I'm kind of like, let's get going and we want to try to get to places.

Possible, especially popular places. And you know, there's going to be a crowd and there's been so many times that we've like been leaving and we're like looking around at like all the people who've arrived since we got there. And we just feel like so fortunate that we made that decision to like push it a bit early.

And you can actually check out on Google. The site that you're going to go see, it actually tells you and a little graph of when it's generally busiest and when it's generally slowest. And we do follow those sometimes just to try to like miss the crowd and like you we've been to places. So early that we've missed crowds completely like the Blarney stone in Ireland.

There's a spot called Kings road in game of Thrones. That's very popular. To go see, we arrived there before there were like three people there. And if that's a place, you'd want the photo op. So it's, if you're really looking for like some great shots, it's great to arrive early and avoid the crowd.

So this is definitely something that we employ when we're on trips as well.

Jenn: Yes. That Google maps trip is a tip is really, really key. Like, I, I, I mean, I knew that feature was there, but I didn't really think about it. On trout

Meggan: and Google maps is going to change your life

Jenn: apparently. Yeah, that's it. That was a quick travel tip, but let us know on social media, if you're a, an up and at 'em early type of person when you travel or if you maybe prefer to sleep in and just deal with the crowds.

Meggan: I mean, that's your prerogative and yeah, it's an awesome. I believe your last option, but it's an option.

We're going to judge you if you do it, but it's completely up to you.

Well, that is it for this travel tip Tuesday. I think that was a helpful one is probably something people may already do. If you are sleeping in, you can now sort of maybe think of it just in a different way and, and, and know what you might be missing. And we all these days kind of want to avoid people.

So there's that? Well, thanks for tuning in guys. Thanks so much. Talk to you soon. Bye bye.
