Make Sure To Take Travel Photos Of Yourself
Have you ever gotten home from a trip and realized that it looks like you just have a bunch of photos of scenery and no pictures of you? Or you traveled as a couple or with a friend and it looks like they traveled alone because there are no photos of you together?! Meggan shares how she makes photos a priority, because once you get home, photos and memories are all you have!

Why You Need A Travel Journal
How do you want to remember your travels? You may think just having photos is enough, but a travel journal can help you remember the details, the little moments, and how much fun you had! Jenn likes to write her travels down, Meggan likes to use video and short notes. Either way it’s fun to look back on your past travels!

Trying New Foods While Traveling
When we think of folks who really love to travel, we think of open mindedness. We are very aware that there are lots of food restrictions due to allergies or choices people make about what they will and won’t eat (vegan, vegetarian, etc) however travelling does introduce us to other cultures and ways of life and that includes food! Our tip this week is discussing branching out from what you normally eat and immerse yourself in a food experience. It doesn’t have to be every meal but if you haven’t eaten like a local at least, were you really there? Be adventurous for at least one meal on your travels…

How To Choose Clothing For Travel
We are all out of practice travelling and packing has always been a conundrum for some – I mean what do you pack for a longer trip with multiple weather scenarios? Jenn talks about how she decides what to pack and she gets ready for her next big trip, what she is having trouble deciding between. Our advice is less pants than shirts and try to also book at least one accommodation, possibly in the middle of your trip, that has access to a washing machine! (although the sink will do in a pinch)

Booking Your Admissions In Advance
A lot has changed in the last two years and now that people are getting back out there in the world, you have to be prepared for the changes. When it comes to travel, one of the changes you can expect in some places is that entry requirements include a pre-purchased ticket! Due to some capacity concerns that still exist, please check in advance for the activities you wish to take part in so you don’t show up disappointed! Plus having your ticket booked in advance can also help you plan better around that activity!

Keeping Your Belongings Safe While Travelling
We do so much to keep safe while travelling but we can never lose sight of our belongings that we leave all day while we are out adventuring. Ensure you don’t leave any valuables around, utilize your room safe if you have one available and also, be a good guest! Not every situation is one to worry about but you don’t know which ones are so it is always better to be neat and tidy and treat the room with respect – this also makes it easier to spot if anything you belong is gone. When you travel like a hurricane, keeping track of your stuff is more tough. Don’t…

Be Open To Meeting People
Travelling means visiting new cultures, eating different food and oftentimes meeting new people! It isn’t for everyone but if you are out there exploring the world, you are likely open to chatting with locals or meeting fellow travellers! We chat about meeting locals in a pub, other Canadians at a resort in the Dominican Republic, a Disney pal from the UK and even some lovely Oklahomans in a bar in Maine! We aren’t talking about the obligation to then pal around with these folks during your whole trip, but more of a fun evening chatting or even keeping in touch after you travel. The world is full of great people,…

Do You Need Printed Travel Documents?
We know it sounds archaic but stick with us for a moment! When you make those flight or hotel or car reservations AND you have a printer available, take a few moments to print out copies of your confirmations. We use them to organize ourselves while on the go when we think, where are we going next? But also, you can’t always depend on technology. What if you arrive somewhere and you have no data or your phone is dead?! Printing copies – you may never use them but if you need them, you will sure wish you had them!

“Planning” To Go With The Flow When Traveling
Jenn feels that one thing that might be missing from her travels is a bit of empty space in her day planner. She loves to go go go and with an upcoming trip to Scotland she really wants to try and have some time set aside to do – nothing…or something, really see what happens and try to go with the flow. Meggan used to be an over planner but is in recovery and with help from her husband Peter has been working towards some plans and also just going with the flow and it’s a nice break from past travels of anxiety and, when are we going to do…
