Trying New Foods While Traveling
When we think of folks who really love to travel, we think of open mindedness. We are very aware that there are lots of food restrictions due to allergies or choices people make about what they will and won’t eat (vegan, vegetarian, etc) however travelling does introduce us to other cultures and ways of life and that includes food! Our tip this week is discussing branching out from what you normally eat and immerse yourself in a food experience. It doesn’t have to be every meal but if you haven’t eaten like a local at least, were you really there? Be adventurous for at least one meal on your travels…

Kat also shares with us what it is like to run an Airbnb, especially one that is so special to their family – built by her dad on family-owned property! It was great insight into the other side of Airbnb and also some great inspiration for anyone considering solo (or couple) adventure travel!

How To Choose Clothing For Travel
We are all out of practice travelling and packing has always been a conundrum for some – I mean what do you pack for a longer trip with multiple weather scenarios? Jenn talks about how she decides what to pack and she gets ready for her next big trip, what she is having trouble deciding between. Our advice is less pants than shirts and try to also book at least one accommodation, possibly in the middle of your trip, that has access to a washing machine! (although the sink will do in a pinch)

Booking Your Admissions In Advance
When it comes to travel, one of the changes you can expect in some places is that entry requirements include a pre-purchased ticket! Due to some capacity concerns that still exist, please check in advance for the activities you wish to take part in so you don’t show up disappointed! Plus, having your ticket booked in advance can also help you plan better around that activity!

Tips For Hiking & Back Country Camping
We were so lucky to be joined a second time by Deborah Peddle-Hann! She joined us again to talk about her new passion she picked up during the pandemic, back country hiking! She shares with us what you need to do to be prepared, what to expect, why she fell in love with this activity and shares resources you NEED to enjoy what can be a challenging physical activity. Keeping Your Belongings Safe While Travelling
We do so much to keep safe while travelling but we can never lose sight of our belongings that we leave all day while we are out adventuring. Ensure you don’t leave any valuables around, utilize your room safe if you have one available and also, be a good guest! Not every situation is one to worry about but you don’t know which ones are so it is always better to be neat and tidy and treat the room with respect – this also makes it easier to spot if anything you belong is gone.
